I was really interested in doing a story on Studio L’ Amour, a burlesque dancing studio opened by Michelle L’Amour. She is a true act with feisty moves and a sweet personality. Before interviewing her, I had no clue how big she was until after I started editing the piece. I was looking on youtube for her performance since all I got to see was her teaching her students. I like getting in the mood of the character I reported on before I beginning editing. It always makes me a better editor and more descriptive writer. Michelle told me she performed all over the world from Europe to the States. She even appeared on America’s Got Talent, where judge David Hasselhoff got really into her dancing. I remember dragging my friend Poli to the studio. Carrying around 30 pounds of equipment, where the bag is heavier than the camera is a pain. I needed help and I suggest bring someone with you at all times when you go shoot an interview, especially if it’s late at night in an area you’ve never been before. The studio was located in the West Loop, I had to take a taxi back and fourth since we couldn’t find the bus stop. This story for Metrominutes was actually not the idea I had in mind. I pitched a story about new ways to boost your exercise routine instead of the old, jaded “Hey, I got to run on the treadmill for 2 hours” thing. But after it was turned down even though it wasn’t at first (My teacher is really forgetful sometimes) I decided to do a profile piece. The previous week I went to a Swing Dancing place, but since my first idea was rejected I used that footage and interviews for the Columbia Chronicle. I’ll post the story on that soon.

Casino Time! I went with my mother’s friends to the casino. Horseshoe Hammond Casino and the other one in Gary, which has a long name. I won at the Horseshoe but lost it all at the Gary one. I lost ten bucks, just so you know. The good thing is that I won a penny!! I forgot to use it at the penny slots. I found two abandoned penny vouchers and put them in the penny slots, thinking I’m so gonna win and be that inspirational story where you have nothing left and end up finding a buck or two, put it in the slots and your a big winner…that wasn’t the case…I won nada! :( But I say stick to the Horseshoe casino and not Ameristar or that other one, its crap! I can’t believe I live in a region filled with casinos..But hey they gave me my scholarship money…Heehee…

Happy New Year! Just started off the new year feeling a little sick. I just had too many Tamales from my mom because if you don’t eat them, It’ll hurt her feelings…And to tell you the truth I’ve been sitting on the toilet for a good 15 minutes because Diarrhea is never a fun thing.

The story I told is not real. I just thought of something and shoot it in Washington Park in East Chicago, Ind. It’s public and I live in front of it so why not? Had my best friend, her sister, and my sis help out. Many people thought the young girl in the video was my sister, but no she is not. Oddly, we kinda do look a like so I cast the people right I guess. I have tons of fun shooting things. I might be falling into television a bit more now. I think I should be a photojournalist. But I want to report and do it all. I’m a one man band and I like it. I LOVE IT! I just don’t know what my heart is really trying to say to me. I have many many interest. Believe it or not I wanted to be a metal singer once and sometimes I still do. I love singing, it’s really fun to change your voice up and down. I think I can make a good voice actress. Like in Cartoons or something. Who knows. I’ll see what happens. I’m just in need of a dv cam because those shoot the nicest picture and yeah the flip is great, but it doesn’t have the audio one and two and three and four…jk…but you know..I’m just picky…

Years ago, I was ridiculously addicted to reading and waiting for the next Battle Chasers comic book to come out. Sometimes it would be a month to two or three..and then years… I was an avid member of Joe Mad’s forum as Chibi Monika! Yes, if you were with me years ago on that message board. I was that chick. I named myself after Red Monika, the character with the red flaming hair and big boobs. She was awesome. So now, I’m left wondering what happen? What happen to Garrison, Gully? Knolan? I’m sad. I want to know what happen next? Is the story ever going to be finished and justified? I need answers Joe Mad! We fans need answers or a basic script on how you planned the story to end. ANYTHING!! POR FAVOR!! It’s a cliffhanger! Why did you leave the comic for a video game that was never released…All I remember was a drawing of a cactus with a sombrero, I believe. But Joe is on to a new game called Darksiders: Wrath of War. Here’s the link to an interview on his latest work…His voice caught me by surprised..But man, his artwork is so AWESOME!

My old job….Camera dude, who is now the executive producer Carlos, is one of the worst people ever to work with. This show is just bad…and I seriously mean horrible! If only viewers knew the truth. He stoled credit from people, stood me up for an interview, and is in love with the host of the show…Sick asshole..Also, the camera dude is a pervert…But one good thing, because of this, I got to be a MAC Pro member. So, at least one good thing came out of this. So illinois latino t-ve fuck you, you guys suck! I feel so much better now..Oh yeah this group, Soulatina are wonderful! Check them out!
